Dr. Xavier Ferrell is a Houston, Texas native who grew up competing in basketball, football, and track & field, with a strong emphasis on basketball. He attended the University of Texas at Dallas, where he earned his undergraduate degree in Healthcare Studies, graduating Cum Laude, while also competing on the university’s basketball team. Following his undergraduate career, Dr. Ferrell went on to attend Texas Chiropractic College in Pasadena, Texas, where he received his Doctorate in Chiropractic, graduating in August of 2025. Dr. Ferrell now serves as an Associate Doctor of Chiropractic at Backed by Blackmon.

During his time at Texas Chiropractic College, Dr. Ferrell completed over 4,700 hours of chiropractic training, gaining extensive hands-on experience in the evaluation and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions. He is certified in dry needling therapy and has a strong understanding of proper treatment and rehabilitation protocols for a wide range of injuries. Dr. Ferrell has specialized training in sport-related injuries and enjoys working with patients across the lifespan, from youth athletes to older adults, helping them return to optimal movement and performance.

Dr. Ferrell is an active member of his home church, which he has attended since his senior year of high school. Outside of the clinic, he dedicates time to training young athletes in basketball, supporting their physical development both on and off the court. His passion for chiropractic care was shaped by two pivotal experiences: witnessing his mother fully recover after seeking chiropractic care following a motor vehicle accident, and his own journey through sports medicine after tearing his ACL. Dr. Ferrell is passionate about advocating for the next generation, particularly through youth sports, community service, and personal development. In his free time, he enjoys all things sports—whether playing, watching, or coaching—as well as listening to and exploring music.
